Hospitals at Adilabad, Basar railway stations

ADILABAD: A secondary level general speciality hospital will be started at Adilabad and Basar railway stations besides opening of an out patient department and diagnostic centre at Mancherial railway station in Adilabad district during the current financial year. The other notable feature for Adilabad in this year’s Railway Budget is the surveys for new lines between Adilabad and Gad Chandur industrial centre Chandrapur district of Maharashtra and between Adilabad and Patancheru industrial area near Hyderabad. Gad Chandur, about 70 kms by road from Adilabad boasts of a good number of cement factories. The new line proposed under cost sharing scheme between Railways and Maharashtra Government will help mainly in transport of cement.

The Budget has also included sanction of doubling works on the track between Mancherial and Peddampet though it has been generally disappointing. The several demands from various sections of people for introducing trains connecting Adilabad to important locations across the country had been denied going by the contents of the Budget. Different segments of people here criticised Adilabad being ignored in the Budget.
